My many coloured days

On the reddest day I am fuming.
I will grow red horns and I will breath fire.
The dragon wings lift me up so I can shout at everyone.
I will scream at anyone I see.

When I come to a purple day,
I am drifting out to the deep blue sea.
Then I drift into a cloud of dust.
I want help but I don’t exist.

When I tumble into a yellow day,
I have so much energy to burn.
I am so jumpy when you play with me.
I need to play with someone just like me.

When the thunder strikes the black day is here,
I’m crying in a corner not wanting to come out.
I try to explain how I feel inside but they don’t listen.
I remember my saddest memories on this sad day.

Athletics day

Athletics

I hear the yelling of people congratulating the those who have made it.

I hear the sound of the bar falling to the ground constantly.

I see the pole rising up higher away from the ground.

I see the others fail their jump.

I feel nervous as I approach the bar to jump over it.

I feel the cold equipment against my legs as I touch the pole.

I wonder if I will get into the top four for high jump?

I wonder if I will get into districts?

Strike or not?

Strike or not?

I feel nervous and overwhelmed by the talking all around me.
I feel the heavy ball slipping slowly from my hands.
I hear other balls rolling towards the skittles and smashing into them.
I hear the yelling of victory from a strike.
I see the gutter guards slowly come up.
I see people carefully choose their balls.
I wonder if I will win and will I yell with victory?
I wonder if I would get a strike?

Hello, Goodbye Poem

Hello, Goodbye Poem

Goodbye to the freezing cold weather that makes the frosts early in the morning.
Hello to the warm bright sunshine every morning shining down on you making me happy.

Goodbye to the sad and gloomy children walking around in sad lonley air.
Hello to the bright and chipper children running around with joy and excitement.

Goodbye to the helpless crusty trees dying every moment we speak.
Hello the fresh blooming daffodils flowering everywhere.

Goodbye to the shivering naked sheep so cold they could freeze to death.
Hello to the cute and fluffy lambs running around and playing with their friends.

Goodbye to the crinkled and shriveled landscape that is concealed with frost.
Hello to the newest freshest landscape that is warm and cheerful.

Goodbye to the coldest saddest parties ever so boring and sad.
Hello to the sunny warmest parties ever known in the hole life.

Goodbye to the noisy birds roosting so loud you might get deaf,
Hello to the happy chirpy birds flying all around our houses.

refletion

This term I learnt that you can turn a improper fraction into a mixed fraction and a mixed fraction into a improper.

The thing I enjoyed the most this term was doing the art for the gallery.

I am most proud of my writing like rhyming pieces and personification writing.

Next term, my goal is to improve on my maths to get in the second highest group.

I hate tomatoes!

We  have been looking at the amazing Dr. Seuss in Team 3, and today had a go at writing our own silly, rhyming pieces. We based our pieces on ‘green eggs and ham’ and chose a food we absolutely despise. It was really fun but hard. Here is my attempt:

I hate tomatoes!

I hate tomatoes
not ever am I going to try
I will not eat them if you give me rewards
I will scream if I see them or maybe cry

I do not think they are delicious
but people say they taste like rice
I say tomatoes are disgusting
and they taste like old dead mice!

Look around I see red everywhere
I could make a tomato band
They are runny inside and out,
in my opinion they look like dirty sand.

when I see tomatoes
I run and scream like I am scared of hay!
I will never ever try them
I won’t even say g'day!

The crashing sea on the Island

The crashing sea on the Island

The angry waves crash on the island, trying to make it disappear.
The island sighs sadly and sobs, that makes more water in the sea.
The only tree on the island sways helplessly in the middle of a war.

The sea mumbles sadly because the island has won but the sea does not give up. The island slowly gets smaller and only a little space is left with the sad little tree.

Wild animal should not be kept in zoos

Don’t you love your freedom? Roaming around and doing whatever you want. Just think about being held behind bars like the wild animals being forced into zoos. I strongly believe that the wild animals deserve to be free.

Firstly, the zoo keepers look at the animals as their pet. The animals don't have this happen to them in the wild. The leads and collars are very unusual to them and so they should not be treated like pets.

Secondly, the animals are sad and miserable since they aren't in their proper home. They aren’t with their own species or in an enclosure that is how they live in the wild. They also get confused about all the excitement buzzing around them. I would too if I was put into a new and scary place. Wouldn’t you?

Last but not least, they can’t do what they can do in the wild. There is nothing they can play with and they can’t roam around. They lose their instincts because they can’t run long distances, catch their prey or eat when they please.

So all these things that I have mentioned in my writing strongly say that animals should not be kept in zoos.

Week 3 reflection

I really enjoyed doing science because we did vinegar in a bottle and baking soda, and it exploded! The most challenging part was keeping up everything I had on like choir and other stuff. The fun part was going to the roadshow science. There was this explosion with a humongous, shockwave that nearly made a picture fall off the wall!

I play hard

Here I am waiting like always ready for my game to start. I’m usually playing GA or GS so I can shoot goals. When the whistle blows I shoot out like a bullet calling out I’m free. When I can not get the ball I dodge , call, run shoot, everything. I do anything. Sometimes it rains. It feels like Ice but I still play, that’s how much I like netball. I get the ball and start getting ready to shoot. I adjust where it has to be then shoot. The colder it gets the better because the more wet, colder and hurt I get I feel good. I can’t wait for the next game; because I just love netball and make a game of it.

My spectacular portrait

This is my portrait that I created this term.
I used pencil/crayon,
pastel, collage and paint. We had to
DSC04115.JPG
make it our best so it took a long time to do. I learnt to blend the pastel and paint. The one I like the best is pastel because the pastels could be blended easily. The most changeling part was
collage because you had to find the right colours to make it realistic. What is your favorite one?

Autumn

Walt: Use nouns and verbs to create powerful sentences about Autumn.

Autumn
1.Outside,the sun, sky and birds shine in the frozen Autumn breeze, and the trees rock and groan and stand side by side like skittles amongst the gloomy fields.

2.Outside leaves, grass and butterflies spiral around the frosty air, and acorns shoot and sway and fire down towards the crunchy leaves on the ground.

The Baking

The Baking Moment

W.A.L.T: capture a moment in time when recounting a personal experience.

I heard “come on I’m starving” as they smelt the scrumptious smell.

I heard “yay!” as I handed out the pikelets.

I saw the golden pikelets  as I gave them out.

I saw them munching up all the tasty pikelets.

I felt overjoy because I made them myself.

I felt excitement race down my back.

I wondered  if they’ll ask me again?

I wondered what I’ll make next time?

I remember

My Arm

I was 6 or 7 when Dylan pushed me off the tramp. We were at Foster Crescent, at the house. I remember  the house was a sea green. Ow ow! I screamed  when I hit the hard ground.  Mum was doing the beds when I came in. Dylan was smiling and cheekily gigging but he hid it by covering his mouth. We went to A and E.  I came out with a cream cast. When I got the cream cast off I chose pink and purple.  After that I chose ocean blue and peach. I had an x-ray. I felt sad since I could not play many games. I hope I do not break my arm ever again.

My community in ten years

In ten years from now my community will have green land where there is no rubbish. I would like it to have more food like corn and  wheat for making bread. We will give money to the poor and the animals will not be endangered so we will all be happy.

Descriptive Writing

The Storm

I woke instantly because I heard a noise. I sat up. I was about to get
out of bed when, I realised it was just the 2 cats. I pulled all Megan’s blankets off her bed then I took Abby’s, and put Abby and Megan in bed with me. Then I heard a screech. It echoed around the house.  I screamed then I realised it was Abby.

I Am From...

I Am From...

I am from... a comfortable rented house, close to sport games near the home of poor, where there are birds tweeting. I am from... a family- where it means getting together with our cousins, where holidays were long and exciting and we had a lot of fun at Christmas time and running around like skating. I am from... “don’t waste time to go to school” “If you don’t have something nice to say don’t say it at all”. I am from... home cooking, playing and swimming, Saturday netball and Sunday church and a world of kindness happiness and joy.
